Why habits don't stick
It was never a willpower problem.
Most habit advice fails in the same four places. Every HabitSets card is built to get past them, so the habit survives a bad week.
01
Too much, too soon
Big resolutions need big willpower, and willpower runs out by Thursday.
Start tiny. Every card has a version for bad days that takes under two minutes.
02
No moment to do it
“Exercise more” has no when. A habit without a cue waits for a free hour that never comes.
A real cue. Every card is tied to a moment you already have: the kettle boils, a call ends.
03
Out of sight
Apps and notes get buried. Good intentions live in a tab you never reopen.
Pinned where it happens. Cards go on the fridge, the mirror, beside the monitor. The reminder is the room.
04
All or nothing
One missed day feels like failure, so the streak and the habit both die.
A plan for slips. Every card says how the habit usually breaks, and what to do when it does.
The decks
Pick the change you want.
Each deck takes you from a real starting point to somewhere better. Every one is free to download, and coming to print.
Pick the change you want most right now.
The system
Four tiers. One pyramid.
Start at the base with habits that take a minute. Climb when they stick. Pin one card until it runs on its own, or draw one a day.
- The actionOne specific thing a camera could see you do.
- WhenA moment you already have: the kettle boils, a call ends.
- Start tinyA version for bad days that takes under two minutes.
- When it slipsHow the habit usually breaks, and what to do about it.
- The sourceGraded A, B or C, so you can tell a tested finding from a good idea.
Special missions. A bounded mission with a clear finish. It can combine practices over days or weeks.
Sustained practices. Practices you develop over weeks through skill, planning and trade-offs.
Prepared practices. Practices that need preparation, a recurring slot or a useful tool.
Small anchors. Small recurring actions with little setup. Choose anchors that fit your day.
Two ways to get a deck
Free to download. Worth printing.
The cards are the same either way. Download a deck and print it at home today, or get the printed edition and have it ready to pin up.

Challenge cards
When routine isn't enough, break the pattern.
Every deck tops out in a few Challenge cards: bounded missions with a clear finish, from one evening to a few weeks. Take one on when you want a stretch.

Honest evidence
Every card shows its receipts.
206 sources cited across the library. Each card carries a grade, so you can tell a tested finding from a good idea.
Reviews of many studies, clinical guidelines, or findings that keep repeating.
At least one well-run study supports what the card claims.
A practitioner’s method or an editorial idea. Worth trying, labeled honestly.
What's the difference between the free deck and the printed deck?
The cards are the same. The free deck is a download: open it in the print studio and print it at home or save it as a PDF. The printed edition is professionally printed, front and back, with each card's QR code, so it's ready to pin up the day it arrives.
Is the free deck really free?
Yes. Every card in the library is free to read, print and use. No account, no email, no trial. The printed decks pay for the library.
Can I buy a printed deck right now?
Not yet. The original boxed decks are sold out, and the printed editions of the library decks are being prepared. Join the waitlist on any deck and we'll email you once when it's ready to order.
How much does a printed deck cost?
The original boxed decks were $39.99 USD for 120 cards. Prices for the library editions will be on each deck's page before orders open, and the waitlist email will say what it costs.
Which deck should I start with?
Start with the change you want most right now, not the one you think you should want. Pick a life area on the decks page and read who each deck is for. If two fit, take the one with the smaller first step.
Do I have to do a card every day?
No. You can pin one card and keep at it until it sticks, or draw a card a day for variety. Both work. The point is repeating something worthwhile at a moment you already have.
Stay in touch
New decks, now and then.
An occasional email when a new deck lands, and when printed decks can be ordered. Nothing else.
From the screen to the fridge
Put the card where the habit happens.
Every deck is free to download and print at home, then pin up: on the fridge, the mirror, beside the monitor. Or get the printed edition, ready to pin up the day it arrives.
